About me

Hello, I'm Peter Delius, a Berlin- and Lisbon-based photographer with a focus on urban scenes, iconic European locations, and authentic editorial storytelling. My images show well-known places in Berlin, Lisbon, Venice, Paris, London, and beyond – but always from a fresh perspective. I’m drawn to the intersection of movement, architecture, and atmosphere, creating dynamic compositions with a strong sense of place, design and history.

My background is in publishing – for many years, I have been publishing books that emphasize powerful editorial photography. This experience continues to shape my visual approach: I focus on subjects with historical or cultural resonance and aim to capture them in visually striking yet grounded ways.

I avoid postcard clichés. Instead, I look for real environments: architecture, monuments, everyday scenes, and people in context. Landmark buildings may appear in my work, but they are rarely the sole focus – I often frame them with unexpected foregrounds, fleeting gestures, or layered urban textures. This approach invites a second look and creates space for narrative depth.

My style is defined by clarity, structure, and vibrant color. Whether it's a quiet square in Vienna, the late-afternoon light on the Brandenburg Gate, or sailboats gliding under Lisbon’s 25 de Abril Bridge – I aim to show cities as they are: alive, photogenic, and full of character and stories.

My work has been published in print and digital by National Geographic, Penguin Publishing, The Guardian, The Times, El País, Eurowings, and various online platforms. Selected images are available for editorial licensing via alamy.com.
